One of our favorite spots in the yard was looking a little… well loved.

After a few seasons of backyard fires, s’mores, and sitting outside long after bedtime, our fire pit was definitely due for a refresh. We cleaned it up and used the BBQ & Stove Paint from @polarspecialistcoatings to give it a fresh start before summer officially gets going.

Honestly, this is one of those small projects that doesn’t take much time but makes the whole backyard feel more ready for hosting, relaxing, and enjoying summer nights.

The bathroom reveal is finally here 🤍

One year ago we walked through this house with a million ideas and absolutely no way to tackle them all at once.

So we didn’t.

Instead, we focused on one project at a time.

This bathroom wasn’t a weekend makeover or a dramatic gut renovation. It was a collection of small decisions, late-night projects, changed plans, and progress made whenever life allowed.

And somewhere along the way, it stopped feeling like a bathroom we inherited and started feeling like a bathroom that belongs to our family.

Complete with bath-time memories, dog portraits, and all the little details that make a house feel like home.

Not every DIY project starts with a drill. Sometimes it starts with finding what’s hiding behind the wall.

A stud finder helps you locate the framing behind your drywall so you can securely hang heavier items where they’ll have the support they need. And since curtains are up next, this was our first step before installing the new rods.

We finally upgraded our bathroom light/fan and I didn’t realize one fixture could do this much.

✨ 4 light temperature settings
✨ Built-in night light
✨ Bluetooth speaker
✨ Humidity sensor that automatically turns the fan on and off

The humidity sensor might be my favorite feature so far.

One tiny DIY issue was literally holding up this entire bathroom project 😂

After adding paneling, our outlets and switches sat too far back in the wall so the covers wouldn’t fit correctly anymore.

This little outlet extender fixed it immediately and let us finally finish this wall 🙌

Which means we can finally move onto:
✨ the new light fixture
✨ updated exhaust fan
✨ and revealing the ceiling color 👀
