It’s definitely a Monday. 🤣 I was running late and as evidence that I usually only film one take of my OOTD … today you get a cut off head. Today feels like the most “Mondiest” of Mondays. The struggle was so real this morning. I set my alarm for the wrong time. I forgot how to turn on my flat iron (which I haven’t used in two weeks). After wearing the same pair of jeans every day for nearly two weeks (depressingly true) it was a struggle to choose from the variety of my closet. I opted for an easy outfit repeat. Travel Day

The color blocking on the jeans makes them a standout, but it also makes them trickier to style. They require a solid, minimalistic top to give the jeans the opportunity to shine! I have never met a knit set I didn’t love. ❤️ Today’s set gives me the opportunity to highlight a couple of items.

First, the coat. Yes, it is still cold in Virginia and yes, this is a trench coat. But it is also raining. I am actually wearing it today for only one reason - LENGTH. This set is long, the skirt is nearly to my ankles. You have two options for coats when you are wearing something this long. You can match the length of set as I have opted to do here, or you could choose a cropped coat that ends about where the top ends. I think the longer version creates a cleaner look which is why I have opted for this trench even though it might be a touch light for today’s temps.

Point number two is not so much a style point but rather a discussion about Murphy’s law. Murphy’s law states that if you are wearing all light colors and you decide to eat buffalo hot wings for lunch you WILL spill orange hot sauce on your light colors. I am once again sporting my Winter Uniform. I did mix things up a little - my turtleneck is actually a hoodie which gives the whole look a Veronica Beard vibe. But the boots are what make the look. They perfectly ground the neutral blazer and denim with their fun python print. These boots are not new so the only way you are getting them is if you track them down pre-loved but they are definitely worthy of such legwork.
