Onions πŸ§… There are 3 types of onions - long day, short day and intermediate. Your location will determine which type you should grow. 🌎 Short day - southern U.S. 🌎 Long day - northern U.S (me). 🌎 Intermediate - central U.S I start my onion seeds mid February (zone4) indoors. This gives me plenty of time to harden the seedlings off and plant outdoors. MN can be a wild card for weather but soil temps is key. Onions like a minimum soil temp of 45 but prefer 50. Onions want consistent moisture so be sure to keep the soil moist. It’s crazy windy here so I’m watering extra as wind will dry that soil very quickly. Mulching is a great way to protect those onion seedlings. Happy planting! β€’ β€’ raisedbedgarden plantingonions onionseedlings seedlings gardeningtip gardeningtipsforbeginners
