Normally I’d agree that Dollar Tree florals can look pretty fake, but look how pretty this front door arrangement came out! I paired them with my Walmart cherry blossoms. The trick when using cheap florals is to tuck them into higher quality stems, or even add them to real florals as a border, and they can make such a fun statement! I also found this adorable bunting and love how the whole thing came out!

A few years ago, we did some cosmetic updates to our kids’ bathroom. It’s shared by my two sons and my daughter so we didn’t want anything too gender-specific. And, I wanted it to feel clean, open and airy. I chose the paint color Sculptor’s Clay because it looked like beach sand. And, I went with matte black hardware to add visual depth and contrast against the creamy white vanity. Then I layered in some open wood shelving for storage, some natural wood decor, and touches of navy to add that classic coastal feel. Last, I added an oversized canvas of a beautiful ocean scene. I think it came out perfect and the whole refresh was under $500! 🌊💙🤍

It’s a drizzly Friday but the sun will come out tomorrow! And tomorrow is going to be a very big deal because it’s officially college graduation day for my first born. Why is it that most patriotic displays look a little tacky to me? I’m pretty finicky about my home decor. It has to look classic, and you know I love that signature New England charm. But everything I see in the stores just takes it a little too far. That’s why this simple vase with the classic fabric flag is the perfect touch. Just enough. It was an easy craft using a dollar tree flag, and some Modge Podge, but definitely elevates the whole look from Dollar Tree kitsch to Pottery Barn Patriotic. (And yes, I have a weakness for anything red & gummy - you can have ALL the chocolate if you save me the red skittles, fish or starburst!)

Target summer drop! And it’s gooood!

Resharing one of my most popular centerpieces from last summer. This one nearly broke my DM‘s. The best part? It’s as simple as it gets… a scoop of beach sand, seashells & candles. Arrange them in vessel with higher sides, to contain the sand. Every time we went to the beach, a new shell was added to the tray! This one won’t come out until July, and it sure is beautiful! This also makes a gorgeous tablescape for a themed shower, special occasion or celebration.

I love a good, happy accident! We relocated our patio table this year. We have two patios and a large two-level deck. So this year, my husband decided to put the patio table on the upper deck. He set it all up and opened the umbrella - and I had to do a double take when I realized how perfectly coordinated my striped patio umbrella looks through my kitchen window, flanked by coordinating café curtains. I guess when your taste in neutral stripes and checkers runs deep, it’s bound to happen that everything coordinates without even trying! And the new Walmart throw pillows from my Texas House are 👌🏼to add in pop of neutral pattern! Just a sneak peak for now, but once the deck and patio are properly set up, I will share the whole space with you!
