Built this outfit around one idea: making track pants feel work-appropriate. Wide-leg, floor-length track pants + an elevated top combo has been on my radar for spring, and this is my favorite way to do it without it feeling sloppy. I paired a sheer white button-down (tall sized) with an oversized cardigan layered on top. Everything is oversized, which keeps the proportions balanced instead of awkward. A small styling tweak that makes a big difference: I buttoned the button-down about ¾ of the way, then only buttoned the top button on the cardigan. It gives a slightly cinched look while still letting the layers flow. The track pants have a seam down the front of the leg — almost like a trouser pleat — which instantly elevates them and makes the whole outfit feel more intentional than “athleisure.” Tall girl layering trick I swear by: When something isn’t tall-sized (like this cardigan), I layer it over a piece that is. Letting the bottom layer show makes the shorter length look deliberate, not like it just doesn’t fit. Finished it off with square-toe platform loafers — the toe shape works with the wide leg, and the platform is non-negotiable because these pants are LONG.
