Red, white and blue Funfetti poke cake 15 once box white cake mix + ingredients to make it (I used Funfetti) 3 ounce box Berry Blue Jello 3 ounce box Cherry Jello 8 ounce tub Cool Whip, thawed (or use homemade whipped cream) 1 can of vanilla frosting (I used Funfetti) patriotic sprinkles • Prepare cake according to package directions, baking in a greased 9×13 pan. Allow cake to cool for about 25 minutes. • Using a straw or wooden chop stick or skewer, poke holes all over the surface of the cake. (note: I wish I would’ve poked one set of holes and filled with red jello, then poked another set and filled with blue. I think that would’ve been easier. • Prepare each box of Jell-o using 1 cup of boiling water + 1/2 cup of cold water. (This is 1/2 cup less cold water than what is called for on package instructions.) *Note: I’m fixing 6 oz. boxes on the reel because it’s all I could find and added 1.5 cups of each flavor to my cake. I put the rest in the fridge to enjoy later!) • Pour red Jello over a portion of the cake, making sure to get the liquid into the holes. Then follow with the blue jello. • Mix cool whip and frosting together, spread evenly over the cake. • Top with sprinkles. • Refrigerate for 4-6 hours before serving. LTKfoodie LTKootd
