Most body lotions are a mix of cheap chemical ingredients, some of which are linked to negative health effects like hormone disruption, infertility, allergic reactions, and even cancer. Think about it. Your skin is your largest organ. Lotions are usually lathered all over your body, sometimes multiple times a day. Therefore, some of these chemicals are being absorbed through your skin, right into your body, directly affecting your health. Here are just a few chemical ingredients to avoid: ❌Fragrance (Parfum): Various undisclosed toxic chemicals that can be made from phthalates or other synthetic agents. Phthalates are hormone disrupters. Research has been linking phthalates to diabetes, obesity, breast cancer, and metabolic disorders. ❌Parabens: They disrupt hormone function by mimicking estrogen and binding to estrogen receptor cells, causing an influx of the hormone. Estrogen dominance is not good for so many reasons, two big ones being infertility and breast cancer. ❌Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A Palmitate): linked to increased risk for skin cancer tumors after exposure to sunlight. Found in many anti-aging products. ❌Formaldehyde-releasing chemicals (DMDM hydantoin): Formaldehyde is a known carcinogen and it has been linked to an increased risk of asthma and allergies in kids. ❌ Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA): Hormone disruptor and thought to be a carcinogen. Like many people, I used to buy my lotions based on their smell. The better they smelled, the more I liked them! Hello Bath & Body Works or Victoria’s Secret 🙋🏼♀️ I had a cabinet of them. Until, I learned what I was putting on, and therefore into, my body. Knowledge is power. You can’t do better, if you don’t know any better. 👉🏼Drop a 💯 if you agree! LTKBeauty LTKFamily LTKBaby
