Sometimes the best trips aren’t about where you’re going… but who you’re going to.
Flying from Charleston to Houston for a weekend that feels like a piece of my childhood.

A crawfish boil with family, simple, familiar, and so special. The kind of tradition that brings you right back to who you were and where you came from.

We actually flew into Austin since Houston travel has been a little unpredictable lately… but it worked out perfectly because my little sister, who’s at University of Texas at Austin, picked us up and we made the drive together.

I don’t get to come here as often as I’d like… and if I’m being honest, family dynamics aren’t always easy. But I keep showing up and over time, so much has softened and grown.

I grew up in Louisiana, and some of my favorite memories are the crawfish boils my parents hosted—full of music, laughter, and tables covered in newspaper.

And with my dad being Indian and my stepmom Vietnamese… you already know the food is incredible.

I was so happy David got to come with me, he makes traveling feel easy, calm, and honestly just better. And somehow… I managed to pack everything into two carry-ons, which feels like a miracle in itself.

This trip reminded me how meaningful it is to hold onto traditions, to show up for the people you love, and to make space for moments like this.
One I’ll never forget 🤍
