Ever notice that some Pilates teachers have a theme when they teach? Maybe they’ll start out with a movement skill or an image before jumping into the work. (thinking of the images @amyalpers and @kellibhutchins are famous for!) Or maybe the focus is on one of the principles of Pilates [concentration, control, center, breath, precision & flow]. Whatever the focus is, the point is there is one! When we have a focus with our work, we can really elevate our practice and ultimately, our bodies. It enables us to move through flexion, extension, bending and twisting through a unique and specific lens. It is almost like each class theme becomes the lens you choose to see Pilates through and the possibilities are absolutely endless. Pictured is the Push Through Series with the focus of really hooking into the equipment to move from my powerhouse; pulling the springs into my belly and using that support to bend and decompress my spine. What is your favorite class theme to teach or to take? & don’t mind the crazy hair. Not sure there is an ideal hairstyle that survives the tower. 🧠: @thepilatescenter 🩱: @lululemon pilates classicalpilates pilatesstudio pilatesinstructor lululemon contrology josephpilates core powerhouse pilateslovers pilatesteacher pilateslife pilatesbody pilatesbrasil
