Day 32 of 72 – Shopping My Closet

This look is a perfect example of why I started this challenge. You do not need something new to feel pulled together. You need great foundation pieces and the confidence to style them differently.

Today’s outfit:
Paige Anessa cropped jeans (such a flattering, easy straight crop)
Black and white striped knit polo (polished but relaxed)
Farm Rio tiger print shacket (statement layer, but still neutral)
Birkenstock-style loafers + socks (comfort meets chic)
Roxanne Assoulin heart necklace (a little playful detail)

This is modern midlife cool in real life — Bible study, lunch, errands, work. Elevated everyday style that actually works for your day.

Denim is always my foundation. From there, I build with texture, print, and intentional layering. The tiger shacket keeps it interesting. The stripe keeps it classic. The cropped straight leg keeps it modern.

Shopping your closet is about remixing premium pieces you already love and wearing them in fresh combinations. Over 50 style isn’t about shrinking — it’s about refining.

Denim you’ll actually reach for on repeat. These MOTHER Women’s The Kick It Jeans are the perfect straight-leg denim — high-rise and just the right amount of relaxed without feeling sloppy. They’re cut from soft, stretchy denim with classic five-pocket styling and intentional whiskering/fading for that lived-in look. Made in the USA and machine wash-able, they go from casual to polished depending on how you style them.

At 5’6″ and wearing heels like a kitten heel, platform, or wedge, the inseam hits at the perfect length — long enough to look chic with sandals and sneakers alike (no awkward bunching!). True to size for me, and the straight leg feels universally flattering on so many body shapes.
