THIS GIRL IS AWESOME 😎

It took me a minute when Joie requested a Lego theme this year to get past the expectation of primary colors and the typical branding and onto a completely unique look (for my amazingly one of a kind girl). I couldn’t be prouder with where we landed with the design + execution of this 8th birthday party! The checkerboard touches were unexpected, taking these four letters (L-E-G-O) and turning it into her name JOIE branded this party right, and we even threw in a few fun custom details (our signature mini boxes each with a different Lego expression and 🤓 created with each kid’s name). Wishing my girl a great 8th birthday and many many more ☺️ #kidsparty #legotheme

So, I ran into @michaelsstores to buy a few things for Joie’s upcoming birthday party and I couldn’t be more excited to have found this ‘Party Shop’ inside their store. My typical advice when planning kids birthday parties is to mix high + low product. Splurge on those high end items that you absolutely have to have and make up the difference by going more simple / cost effective on other items that aren’t as important. The great thing about what Michael’s has to offer though is that these stunning thematic paper plates, cups, forks, and napkins have a high end look and feel but are actually verrry affordable. We couldn’t have been happier to help host our soon to be sister in law last weekend for her bridal shower surrounded by so many family + friends. We love a great theme, and hosting our first official party in Tami’s adorable garden leant itself so well to high tea with our bride. What were the highlights? The most scrumptious tea sandwiches, salads, and more catered by @cornucopia_caterers, custom made Bridal Bingo and a fun (yet juicy) game of Spill the Tea, infused iced tea (cuz it’s hot hot in the valley), and florals + frills galore. Did we mention we looove a theme!? Just a few more weeks until the big day! We can’t wait to celebrate this incredible couple and welcome Allie officially into the family 🫶🏼🌸

Apparently according to this group of friends, we always do the most “aesthetic parties”. I mean that’s the best compliment ever, but I can’t take all the credit. Ava wanted a pink coquette vibe for her end of the year and early birthday with her school friends, and she helped out with each detail and pink 🎀.

AZ family trip guide 🌵 ☀️

In 2000, I went to school at ASU and I loved Arizona so much that I stayed for another 5 years! My husband Phil went to that other school in AZ (we won’t mention the name), but needless to say Arizona has a special place in both our hearts. Which is why we choose to vacay there when we can, and this 4th of July we brought the whole fam! ⁣⁣⁣⁣

We absolutely recommend staying @jwdesertridge for all things kid friendly (pools, activities, water slides, lazy river, arcade, in house Starbucks, firework show, etc.) and NO they did not pay me to say that nor was my room provided for writing this post … I just REALLY liked the whole experience! My food recs are always the same … @oreganospizza and @usegg are AZ trip non-negotiables. DON’T get scared off by the extreme heat and DO plan to be in the pool or in air conditioning all day. Enjoy!

🌮 I always have a few easy to make appetizers on the ready, think a box of tasty crackers and some fun cheeses or a fresh salsa and chips. ⁣⁣
