I had the chance to spend a few hours on my porch this afternoon to dwell in God’s presence and His Word. It wasn’t quiet… city life was still hurriedly passing by… but it was somehow without distractions. My mind was still and focused. My heart was filled. Before they left for school pickup, my husband and daughter even brought me some homemade cookies. Most days are not like this. Most days feel rushed and overwhelming and leave me overstimulated. But the fact that I was able to make the space to be unhurried for a few hours this afternoon has been more than refreshing.
