When we built our home in the early 2000s, cherry cabinets with dark granite counters were alllllll the rage. So obviously that’s what I wanted! 😀 And I loved them for a long time. ♥️ Until my kitchen started feeling really dark all the time. 😕 But I really didn’t want to paint all the cabinets: I love their warmth! That island though? 🤔 Maybe I could add some trim on the front, and give it legs. Painting just the island could make it look more like a piece of furniture… plus it would break up all the wood. 🤩 New counters and a white tile backsplash didn’t hurt either.
