We bought an A-Frame House! We are so excited to start furnishing it!
First up, we needed lighting fixtures! We added globe lights and coned spot lights, to give that mid century feeling that our 1969 A-frame needs. We also needed some window shades, so we aren’t always living in a fishbowl after hours. These pull-down, blackout shades were perfect.
There’s still lots more items we need to complete our place (while carefully maintaining our budget)! So please, stay tuned for all the a-frame decor to come!

One of my #favorite #essentials in the #kitchen is my #EmileHenry #fruitbowl. It was a gift from my family for my birthday and it has become a #mostuseditem. They say the #cork lid was inspired by the French tradition of throwing corks into the fruit bowl to absorb moisture and keep flies away. The #ceramic bottom blocks light from my onions, shallots and garlic, but has holes for ventilation.

A few counter-height wood stool options for our clients new kitchen island. He requested the stools have backs, so we chose some wood designs that are comfortable, but compact enough for entertaining large groups.

This list also includes his kitchen cabinetry hardware from Rejuvenation, and champagne bronze faucet to match his matte white & champagne bronze range and fridge.

The island has two outlets, which will have heritage brass gfci switch plate covers, and the tile wall will have two more (one with a light switch for above the sink) which will also be in heritage brass.

Client’s Victorian AirBnB Bathroom Essentials: a soft color, patterned tile, chrome hardware and vintage-inspired accessories for a guest bathroom that looks like it’s always been a part of this historic home. Make it feel like a hotel suite with complimentary soaps, extra towels folded on a chrome towel rack, blow-dryer in bag on its own hook, and well-stocked chrome bathroom accessories to match.

The guest/secondary bedroom has sunny yellow sheets and a rich ochre linen duvet. 2 sunny bed pillows, with 2 brown linen shams, and 3 extra yellow quilted throw pillows create a layered, enveloping bed. Add a wavy checkered throw blanket and a green rug for an inviting and uplifting bedroom.

The primary bedroom for this client has a pink polka-dotted vintage couch, so the vibe was set right off the bat! The deep maroon duvet complements the pink and accents of teal and orange to keep it feeling unique. The eclectic, bohemian prompt was further showcased by the sophisticated mixing of patterns - florals, stripes, and polka dots harmonize together when in similar tones. Add layers of pillows on the king bed to create a luxurious sleep. Don’t forget the basket with extra throw blankets and side table for convenience while lounging with a cup of tea and a good book.

Client’s Victorian Air BnB Kitchenette Essentials: Dining area drop-leaf wood table and four commercial-grade classic chairs sit on a round jute rug. At the coffee bar, our matching small appliances, easy for everyone to access (with the microwave in the pantry). Above the sink, a vintage style dish rack, dark wood floating shelves, set with quality flatware that can hold up against renters. Aesthetic soap dish and easy-to-reach cleaning supplies help everyone keep the space tidy. Finish with a rug runner at the sink. Optional small island with seating, if there is room for the additional furniture.

The communal living room design is welcoming and cozy. Lots of nods to the neighborhood history with eclectic woven tapestries, historic map, and eyeball artwork. Lots of extra pillows and blankets makes it feel comfortable and relaxed. (IKEA chair, Spaze orange couch, and Real Fun Wow artwork could not be tagged on LTK, so I will send the links separately)

Bed & Breakfast entryway and hallway for a vibrant Victorian getaway. Clients want a unique, eclectic and colorful vibe in this historic guest home near the Haight district in San Francisco. A bohemian Victorian with a bit of a psychedelic history calls for bold, unique decor!

Upon entry, guests are greeted with a colorful doormat, hooks to hang their purse/bag, an easy to reach lamp and a bowl for keys. A welcome sign and a binder with more information helps them settle in.

Down the hall, the charming reading nook might be everyone’s favorite place to chill. Comfy swivel chair, tarot sun pillow, a warm knit blanket, and a foot stool ottoman. Cuddle up with a good book about the area.

The hallway has a multicolored rug and playful art that represents the history of the house and the neighborhood.

Living room design is welcoming and cozy, with a nod to the neighborhood history with eclectic woven tapestries, historical map, and eyeball artwork. Behind the scenes, these are the tools that use to record my Sky House content: I mostly use my overhead phone mount that can bend over my hands and point in many directions. I find it does need a weight or sandbag to keep it very steady if on a lightweight table, or if I’m moving around a lot (kitchen countertops have more stability), but I also have the biggest iPhone size. Sometimes I like a tripod that is upright for filming on the go, that’s when I use the white tripod that packs up and fits in a back pack. I recently also purchased a goose mount phone mount, but it bounces if I move around too much, so it’s better for simple recordings, reading, and light administrative duties.

My cooking drawer is refreshed to neatly hold my Le Creuset Dutch Oven in the color “Provence” , many tea towels, Our Place Always Pan, and cast iron Lodge skillets separated by felt liners. I also keep my Pyrex measuring cups and my kitchenaid hand mixer in here too. I jave just enough room to hold everything I need to cook. #organized #kitchendrawer #organization

She doesn’t want to get out of bed, and loves to lay on our organic cotton bedding. This matelasse bed spread is no longer available, so I put a few similar options together. It’s so soft and light, a perfect addition to our duvet in the winter. She tears it up a bit more than I would like, but we all love laying on it.

My favorite Dansk sauce pans are on sale right now! I have both the 1 qt & 2 qt size in the pink color. I gifted my mom the smallest size last year for the holidays. I love these for sauce work! One of my most used tools is my Kitchen aid immersion blender mini-food processor attachment. I use it here to chop olives and rosemary to save me time on my stuffed focaccia bread recipe. I use it constantly! And I finally got a new non-stick, Le Creuset focaccia baking pan! So worth it!

Our Cafe Double Oven in Champagne Bronze, not only looks like the aesthetic jewel of our kitchen, but it was also a functional, practical choice too. Because we have a galley kitchen, if we had gotten a stove with one large door, the dishwasher door and oven door would have hit each other when both opened.
