Before fall was over I went in a girls only cruise. No husband or kids. No work distractions or tight deadlines.

I used the time to realign before the last push of the year. I caught up on some reading and enjoyed doing things at my own pace and schedule.

If re-alignment is your goal during your vacation here’s what I recommend you bring with you:

1. Your kindle paperweight. It’s lighter than hauling books. And you can keep reading long after your suite mates have gone to bed

2. A digital camera. If you know, you know.

3. The 5 minute journal. Abundance begins with gratitude for what we already have.

A few pointers to make your wear more enjoyable:

⚡️wear socks. As with most Doc Martens there’s a break in process to be mindful of

⚡️add support insoles. Both for comfort but also if your shoes fit a bit large the added cushion will give you a better fit.

⚡️Tie them how you want BUT be aware that the laces are not long enough to make a bow behind the ankle.

Would you believe me if I told you this was a Day 4 refresh?!

The key is to part the hair in sections of 4. saturate your hair with water to reactivate the curl cream, use a little of leave in conditioner to comb through the hair and then scrunch with gel.

You can air dry or diffuse 80% of the way and air dry the rest. Once fully dry take your take separating the curls and fluffing it out with a Afro comb.

A few tips for your next hiking trip as a curly girl:

• 3 day curls in an updo is cute and comfy because your hair isn’t too clean and not too dirty

• these Amazon waterproof pants are true to size. I wear a size Medium

• if you’re in between sizes I recommend sizing up for your hiking boots. Leaving enough room for thick socks when needed and comfort soles when you don’t.

• for your backpack size the smaller works just fine. It was lightweight and held everything we needed as a family of 6 + our dog including his normal aluminum bowl.
