The classic trench is tricky to find in store this season, but for me it will always be a style staple… you too?

Usually reserved for mens suiting, navy and charcoal are feeling relevant again in women’s wardrobes. If the palette feels too heavy, consider adding silver and white accents to soften the look.

As knee length skirts start to feel relevant again, sheer textured tights follow suit. Opt for subtle patterns like spot or lace for a modern finish.

I've noticed the jumper dress on the runways these past few seasons, reworked into longer, more refined silhouettes that feel both effortless and elevated. It's always been a winter staple in my wardrobe.

As new season trends arrive in-store, please remember the key to

While traditionally worn on the left, in 2025 the brooch is being styled either for effortless elegance or strategically for function and fashion.

But remember adding an embellishment to your ensemble creates a focal point, so position it somewhere that makes you feel confident.

And, always check that the fabric can support the weight of your brooch to avoid pulling or damage.
A Spring/Summer 2025 micro trend originating from Phoebe Philo, the ostrich feather brooch is perfect for anyone like me who loves adding a touch of texture to a look. If you can't afford the luxe version, consider this less expensive option I found on Amazon.

Secondhand style is chic and sustainable. More and more women are giving pre-loved clothing another chance at life and for a good reason. Not only can great quality pieces be found for too-good-to-be-true prices; by buying previously owned items, we're keeping still wearable garments out of the landfill.

It's not my usual shopping spot but recently I saw this grey pinstripe blazer, a trend I'd been admiring but as I'm always thinking about cost per wear, l'a been hesitant to invest.

My Sunday style is all about comfort and versatility, with pieces I can add or remove throughout the day.

My coat is the Longline Check from Kmart, I’ve sized up to a large.

One shirt, four ways.

Season after season, the runways return to burgundy. No longer a key colour, now a new neutral.

Mid autumn in Melbourne, but it feels like late summer… crisp enough in the morning to justify a layer, then by mid-afternoon you’re wondering why you brought it at all.

Are you enjoying these divine days?

Don't think you can wear denim jorts? Consider them a denim skirt & pair back with the same separates.

Patterned pieces are a great addition to your wardrobe… depending on how you style them, they can act as basics or accents. They also add colour, visual interest, and positioned correctly, highlight your favourite features.

Are you team pattern?

Oversized silhouettes look modern but it’s subtle styling that makes the outfit look fabulous, not frumpy. Often, showing a little skin is the easiest way to break up volume and define your shape.

Garments in neutral colours are the foundation of a functioning wardrobe. They are the hues you don’t see on a traditional colour wheel as they lack pigment, making them the perfect pairing for a variety of shades, as well as other neutrals.

The best neutral colour combinations are the ones that are less conventionally paired together, think grey and camel. This unexpected mix creates a look that’s considered and effortlessly chic; it also looks great with metallics or a touch of white or black too.

The check shirt is making a quiet comeback; seen on runways but styled 90s Nirvana, on the streets. However, this time around it feels more polished and intentional, an easy way to add a bit of je ne sais quoi to this season's simpler silhouettes.

I wore a slip skirt the first time around and doing it again… now with lace trim.

For me, Pinterest starts with admiring the outfit, then understanding why it works and reinterpreting it in a way that feels like me.

Once considered a bit bland, argyle is having a refreshing revival. First spotted on the Miu Miu AW22 runway, the diamond knit soon popped up at Khaite, Bottega Veneta and beyond. Now it's hit our high streets with modern takes on the diamond knit appearing in most stores.

Are you team argyle?

When dressing in a rush, I rely on a denim dress and simple accessories. you?

Midlife for women can come with its challenges, but for me, one of the joys is seeing trends return & wearing favourite pieces again. Today, my grandmother’s brooches create a subtle softness to a statement silhouette.

Fashion trends rotate every few years, and while horizontal stripes have dominated catwalk collections over the past year or so, that’s now changing to make room for vertical stripes, in particular the vertical stripe shirt.

Have you heard of shrouding?

Fashion journalists coined the term last year; it’s all about flipping up your jacket or coat collar to frame your face.

Such a simple trick that adds intrigue and helps to keep you warm too!

Yes, rises are dropping again. After years of defining the waist at its smallest point, the shift to mid & lower rises requires a more considered approach.
✔️Fabric matters. Choose pieces with enough weight to shape and smooth.
✔️Keep the waistband clean and minimal.
✔️Balance with an elevated top to draw the eye upward.
✔️A mid rise often feels most flattering, sitting just below the waist rather than across the lower stomach.
✔️And always consider proportion. A longer hemline brings balance to a lower rise.

Trends change, but you don’t always need something new, just a little creativity.

I noticed on the recent concrete catwalks that crossbody bags are out and clutches are in.... so I removed the strap and my bag feels modern again.

Move over polka dots, there’s a new print taking over…. Tartan, plaid & checks are back.

The best peices are the ines you wear on repeat.

A new addition from a brand I’ve always browsed but never quite loved until this piece. It feels so versatile and very me.

With firmer fabrics, going up a size can help the piece drape rather than sit rigidly, creating shape more effortlessly.

Recently I was asked if buying vegan leather was a more sustainable option than animal leather, and it’s a tricky one to answer!

Vegan leather and faux leather are usually the same thing, a material designed to look like leather without using animal hide. Most are made from plastic based materials like PU or PVC, though newer plant based options are emerging.

Lifecycle studies, including research presented at the Copenhagen Fashion Summit, have shown cow leather can have a high environmental impact, particularly when livestock emissions and tanning processes are considered.

That said, durability matters. A well made leather piece can last decades and be repaired, while some faux leathers may need replacing sooner, which also carries an environmental cost.

My advice? Consider your values and aim to maximise cost per wear. Buying fewer, better pieces... whatever the material, is usually the most sustainable approach.
