Jackets are key as we move into the autumn. So here are all my try ons - blazers to bouclé & suede

Mango is definitely a go to for me for coats and this one is a style I have bought a lot of over the years. However this season it is definitely longer than previous years so I’d suggest this is a good one if you’re on the taller side.

Definitely size down so it’s not too oversized and use the belt to create a bit more shaping at the back.

If you’re after a lighter weight puffer that isn’t quite so puffy and large then I’d recommend you look at this one!

It’s part of the Puffertech range so lots of clever creatures/technology.

Is much lighter and neater than their seamless down range so doesn’t feel as bulky but still nice and warm

Can cinch in at the back thanks to the internal toggles to create waist shaping

Comes in other colours

Wearing xs but would usually take XXS which is only available online

I’ve tried on a few new in jackets across the high street from teddy to faux fur, wool to boucle which should see you from casual to smart!

Lots of chocolate but many of these come in other colour options.

I buy a lot of coats from Reiss for clients and here are a couple in this season’s brown tones.

They do regular and petite length. I have petite on in these as I’m 5ft 2

Both do come in other colours such as camel and the second on here is one I do have in camel.

I have linked these in the order I am wearing as they do look similar.

I recommend sizing down in these by at least one size based on what I have bought with my clients

Uniqlo is where I often go for these coats thanks to the price point, value for money and functionality.

I have both of these in different colours from previous seasons and wear on repeat I have XXS but these are both xs.

Lots of colour options available and I’ve also linked a couple of other options in this seamless down range that are different lengths - a shorter one which is great with wider legged styles and a mid length. As well as a lighter down option if you don’t want anything as puffy!!

The barn jacket was a big trend last autumn and it’s still big this season.

If you missed out on the viral M&S one then this is a great option -even better because not only does it have a hood it’s also part of the puffertech range so is actually warm.

But hurry because the brown is already oos online and the navy is selling out too…

I have on a small as there were no xs in store but I usually wear an XXS - size 6.

If you saw my reel yesterday one of the jackets on it was an old Zara one and I had lots of comments asking me about it… but this one is super similar.
Wearing xs.
100% recycled polyester

The car coat is also similar to my old trench. This single breasted style is called a car coat and is a good option if you have a large bust as often traditional trenches are too stiff and have too much volume being double breasted plus too many details over the bust.

This one is also good if you’re petite as it’s neat fitting. Shorter length so good with summer trs and jeans but not so good for wide legged styles/skirts and dresses

They make your lighter weight jackets and coats work harder and for longer. Perfect for travel too.

Clever details to make it invisible and super warm. I’ve had mine for years

Wearing xs but going to buy XXS so it’s a neater fit under my shorter jacket.

If you’re after a suede jacket without the price tag then try these two at Zara. Wearing xs in both

The second one is bigger so I’d definitely recommend sizing down in it.

I stupidly got a medium in the grape one so it’s big on me but be aware of the dropped shoulder and how this changes your shoulder line.

I often recommend to clients to size down to mitigate against this.

The grey one is lovely too. Wearing xs in this.

The two bombers in particular look more expensive than their price tag.

Here are some more options for you to consider if you’re after layers and outerwear to take you into the autumn.

The barn jacket was big last a/w and is still here. This one comes in 2 other colours and is a great practical casual jacket option for wearing with jeans. Wearing xs but would size down. I’ll also link the M&S one which is lined to a good option if you’re after something warmer.

The utility jacket has long been a staple in my wardrobe and this is a good one. Size down as it comes up big but the lyocell means it drapes beautifully so is a great one if you have a large bust. Wearing xs in this bit would size down to XXS

The hooded quilted jacket is water and wind resistant and is a lovely lightweight casual jacket that is ideal for now before you need a thicker, heavier puffa. Comes in lots of colours. Wearing xs in this bit would size down to XXS

And finally the gorgeous wool mix jacket. Love this colour but there are other options too. So much more expensive looking than its price tag. It is unlined so a good transitional piece. Size down. Wearing xs but would go XXS. A nice smart casual jacket to smarten up your jeans.

I really rate Mango’s coats for quality at this price point and buy this style amount others for my clients. But I would size down so you aren’t swamped. A selection of new in bits at Zara that caught my eye last week

The suede jacket is a great transitional option. Wearing xs perfect with denim or over dresses/skirts

Lovely denim cropped wide leg jeans. Wearing 6

Gorgeous chocolate shirt dress. Perfect for work. Wearing xs. Good for 6

Transitional knit - also in cream. Great for work too. It’s a neat fit. Wearing small which is good for a size 6.

Chocolate co-ord. lots of outfitting options with this one. This is a relaxed fit and too but on me. Would be good 8:/10.

The cropped trench is still around and this chocolate one is gorgeous.

Does also come in a beige too.

Like the shoulder seam as so many have had dropped shoulders which adds a lot of width to there shoulder line - and that’s not always a good thing!
