How to look luxe for less…

1. Choose your fabrics wisely - this will make a huge difference. Natural fibres are often a better choice.

2. Dress head to toe in the same colour or tonally. And that does not just have to mean neutrals! Missing textures stops your outfit from looking flat.

3. Stick to 2/3 colours in your outfit for a pulled together look.

4. Add interest/personality with statement accessories

5. Use one piece to bring all elements of your outfit together. This could be a jacket or a scarf etc.

These are a great trouser that I’ve bought for clients - comfortable as they are made from ponte so have some stretch as it’s a heavy weight jersey.

Ideal smart casual style you can dress up for work or down for the weekend.

Come in two leg lengths. I have the short on. Would say they come up long but are supposed to be a full length trouser. Easy to shorten though.

The regular is a good length for my taller clients

The suede definitely helps as it is soft and these strap means they stay on your feet too.

these Zara ones also come in sizes 2-9

I would recommend sizing up in the Heattech as they are close fitting I have xs and usually take XXS

Little leopard pumps from Sezane. They are also super cushioned and soft but are just a bit too wide for my feet. But they do come in sizes 2-9 as well 🙌

As I hadn’t tried any of their footwear before I thought I’d give them a go!

Leopard is a neutral that works with a whole host of different colours so will work hard in your wardrobe

It’s knitwear season 🧶

So keep in mind these three tips on sizing, storage and care to ensure the right fit and that what you buy lasts longer 🙌

Sweater - size up. I have the medium in the chocolate knit which is a much better fit on me than the small (I usually wear xs in Zara for ref)

The cardigan - this is a small and is a good fit on me. Would also work for an 8

The fabric shaver is a must have not just for your knits but great for coats too.

All storage and moth care are from total wardrobe care. I have also linked some of their other products which I also have and would recommend. I can’t find their hangers to link here so have linked similar

Chocolate 🤎🤎

The barn jacket was a big trend last autumn and it’s still big this season.

If you missed out on the viral M&S one then this is a great option -even better because not only does it have a hood it’s also part of the puffertech range so is actually warm.

But hurry because the brown is already oos online and the navy is selling out too…

I have on a small as there were no xs in store but I usually wear an XXS - size 6.

If you saw my reel yesterday one of the jackets on it was an old Zara one and I had lots of comments asking me about it… but this one is super similar.
Wearing xs.
100% recycled polyester

The car coat is also similar to my old trench. This single breasted style is called a car coat and is a good option if you have a large bust as often traditional trenches are too stiff and have too much volume being double breasted plus too many details over the bust.

This one is also good if you’re petite as it’s neat fitting. Shorter length so good with summer trs and jeans but not so good for wide legged styles/skirts and dresses

Super soft denim shorts at Mango under £30

Wearing the 34 (6) in the first 3 pairs which are all the same style but these are too big and would need 32.

Both are straight leg styles

If you’re tall or you want a bit more coverage on your legs then these shorts are perfect.

They come in other colours too and the belt is very lovely as well.

It’s a great style if you’re curvier or heavier through the thigh as there is enough material not to cling.

It’s a full length straight leg style so is a great one to try if you’ve struggled with wide legs feeling too voluminous.

I have a mix of 23/24 in short and extra short on this post. It’s a relaxed style but I prefer a neater fit so liked the 23 on me better but just depends what look you’re after

Style or fashion - which camp do you sit in?

Do you buy into trends just because it’s a trend, or do you consider your own personal style first and foremost?

If you don’t know your style and you flit from trend to trend then that can make for a confused wardrobe that doesn’t necessarily equate to wearable outfits and that doesn’t necessarily represent who you are.

So when you hit the shops ask yourself these questions to ensure what you buy does work for you on all levels:

The evolution of an outfit…

How do you get from basic to styled?

These are the simple steps I go through in nearly every outfit I put on and this formula works irrespective of whether you are creating a smart, casual or smart casual look.

Not every step will always be necessary and what the individual pieces are will obviously change but if you’re feeling like your looks are basic and you want to up your style game then this may help. One to save 📌

1. Tuck
2. Add a belt
3. Add jewellery
4. Layer
5. Roll/ruche sleeves
6. Footwear that compliments the outfit
7. A bag that also compliments the outfit

If you have a short body or short legs then you will want to re balance your vertical proportions by placing the horizontal lines strategically on your body.

Wherever you place a horizontal line - ie where your clothes/footwear start and finish is the point the eye is drawn to. So trick the human eye into thinking you have longer legs or a longer body 🙌🙌

Want to look taller without wearing heels..👠?

At 5ft 2 using the power of vertical lines to elongate the silhouette is a trick I regularly employ!

One to save and share 📌📌

✔️ vertical stripes/prints

✔️ vertical details such as buttons/pin ticks etc

✔️ v necklines - particularly useful if you have a short torso

✔️ layers worn open - blazers/coats/cardigans etc will elongate and slim as they draw the eye inwards as well as vertically

Adding colour into your wardrobe 💕

One of the colours this season is this lovely coral-pink so here are 9 different outfits and colour combos for you to consider plus some tips on how to incorporate colour into your life.

💕 Often a brighter colour with black is the least good option so play around with other neutrals and colour combos

💕 Consider the overall colour balance of the outfit. A contrast can be great but colours work well when paired with other colours of a similar depth.

💕 Always make sure your accessories compliment the rest of the outfit.
