Do your claw clips slip?

If they are slipping, snapping, or hurting, you might have the wrong material or the wrong size

🧡 The Plastic Clip
Plastic clips are budget-friendly and come in so many fun colors and shapes. They’re super lightweight, so they work well on thinner hair

🤍 The Metal Clip
Metal clips offer a superior hold and a minimalist, shiny look. However, they can feel heavy

🩵Helpful tip
You can always anchor it with a standard ponytail and hair tie , then add the claw clip

💛The Size Rule
And remember: use extra-large sizes to hold an entire ponytail, and save the smaller clips for your half-up

2 steps I never miss!

when it comes to healthy hair, you have to protect it! Try adding the double method!

1) for just washed wet hair I use a leave in conditioner with thermal protection (skip this step if you feel like leaving in conditioner, weigh your hair down too much) and just go straight to a hair protectant

2) after my hair is dry and before I use a hot tool, I add another protectant barrier. An aerosol style. This works well on day 2 or 3 if you’re freshening your curls or flat ironing

Want hydration and shine for your hair! Add oil!

I have 4 things that add to my dryness over 50, curly hair that tends to frizz, color treated hair and I use hot tools

So here’s how I add, moisture and shine. A little goes a very long way and you don’t want to add it to the top of your hair and weigh it down.

I used to avoid wide-leg….

A great way to wear wide legs for a curvy petite is to add details! Notice the buttons are on a diagonal to draw the eye in and mimic your curves!

Also, more typically taught to wear a crop jacket if we’re petite don’t rule out something longer to give you coverage and leave it open so you create a column

🛎️ Genetics and hormones definitely play a huge role in how our hair changes after 50. 🧬 But while we can’t rewrite our DNA, we CAN change our daily habits to help our tresses!

🔑 Here is exactly how I counterbalance dryness, breakage, and dullness to keep my colored/highlighted over-50 hair happy:

💧For Dryness: I swapped to a moisture-infused wash routine that targets mature, parched strands and a weekly deep conditioning masks. Plus frequent regular trims ✂️

🛡️ For Breakage: I stop damage by using a silk pillowcase & sleeping with my hair up along with repair products that restore protein and a hair protectant before using hot tools

✨ For Dullness: I finish with a lightweight treatment oil that brings back that youthful, vibrant shine
