We focus on activities, toys, and a few sweets in our baskets. I usually pick up things from a variety of stops, based on what the kids like.

This year included paddle balls and a lot of backpack keychains 😅

Travel Packing: when a great outfit doesn’t fit with the palette.

You can have a great outfit that’s perfect for the weather and location, but it may not fit in with the color palette of the rest of your items. I always tell my clients to remove those outfits. Instead, look for a similar style that does align with the rest of the color pallets to ensure you can mix and match easily.

The first slide shows an amazing colorful skirt and tank that is not as cohesive as the second slide. Also a skirt and tank, but the colors fit with the pallet from the rest of the ensembles.

Travel Packing: Color Coordinating

When packing a travel wardrobe, an easy way to see if a collection of outfits is cohesive is to lay it out next to each other on the floor. You can then stand up and stand back to see if mixing and matching makes sense.

Not all pieces may go together, but there is a spectrum that takes you from one end to the other, allowing for a variety of styles while on your trip.

Spring Friday Service

A sunny, brisk spring morning for Friday church service. A layered skirt, knee high boots, classic heavy weight tee, and wool blend vest was perfect for keeping me the right temp.

I pulled the blue stripe with the blue tee. The cream stripe with the boot. And the tan/dark ivory with the vest.

Travel Hacks: Wardrobe Mix&Match Packing

When packing for a trip, I always pack outfits. Along with outfits that look good, I pack within color families so that we can easily mix and match to expand our wardrobe.

It will always pack a weeks, long worth of outfits, knowing that we will do washings during our time there (at least one).

I will either layout outfits on the ground to see them all together, or I can do a simple stack where you can view all the outfits together along with the colors to make sure it’s cohesive.

Travel Hacks: Four

I pack specialty items together for convenience and ease. All the kids swimsuit items are in one cube: two suits per child so one can be drying while the other is worn. Goggles. Hats. This way we can pull them out conveniently when needed.

For travel packing, I always create a list in notes with everything that we need. It allows me to store it on my phone so that I have it on the way there and on the way back. It also has little click buttons. I can check when a step is complete ✅

This helps me ensure I am not forgetting small yet important items that otherwise might slip my mind 🧠

I slipped into my knit cropped pants and color matching graphic tee. A dark denim Shacket dresses up the look (compared to light denim). And comfortable fashion sneakers complete the look. Quay Sunnies are an added benefit for eye safety and style.

I always keep my “airplane travel” items together. My large suitcase holds the packing cubes, the stroller bag, the car seat bag. That way, next airplane trip, I’ve got everything I need all in one place. Easy breezy.

Easter Dress: Day 5

Working our way through tha spring/summer palette, we’re moving into the purples of the season.

Two hues join us this year, both rich in color: a deeper than lavender, Amethyst Orchid and a dusty plum called Amaranth. These two colors are full and vivid, and perfect for Easter dress.
