My First Time Cleaning Copper! Here’s what I did and what I learned: I found this gorgeous solid copper teapot at a thrift store for $10! It was made in Portugal, was very dirty and missing the whistle part. But for $10 I had to have it and try to salvage it! I used Bar Keepers Friend, water and a brush to scrub it. I read online not to use brushes with rough bristles but when I tried a regular sponge it didn’t clean the copper well enough. So I gave in… Also, I didn’t have gloves so I didn’t wear them but please do! This product is pretty strong and has chemicals so that was a mistake on my part and a lesson well learned. I am pleasantly surprised at how well the copper cleaned up but I do think I scratched it with the brush I used (I’m not positive, the scratches could have been there already but they are quite visible). I read online there are products to fix scratches so I definitely will try that later this week. I also will try to find a replacement whistle to make this teapot complete. But I am very happy with how it is looking as of right now! styleofliiving homedecor diy thriftstorefind copper vintage copperteapot LTKstorytime LTKHome LTKvlog
