Pediatric OT here, your child isn’t just “being difficult” because they want to, their sensory system is trying to tell you something! I worked with a 4 year old who was just like this and in 8 weeks we saw fewer meltdowns, increased tolerance for self care routines, initiation of messy play, and improved ability to stay calm in noisy environments. Their sensory sensitivities were starting to impact both social participation and independence with daily routines 📝 Some of the sensory strategies we used: • A sensory diet tailored to the child’s needs • Desensitization play through gradual exposure to textures • Environmental modifications • Parent coaching to support regulation and carryover at home If you need help coming up with sensory strategies for your little one, DM or email me! 🫶🏼 sensoryintegration sensorystrategies
