Why buy a premade advent calendar full of junk your teenage daughter doesn’t want or need when you can make your own? I started with cute kraft bags and stickers with dates on them. I tied each bag with a red bow and put them in a cute wicker sleigh this year. You could use any sort of bag and sticker combination and any sort of container to hold them. You probably have something laying around your house. :) Then get some cute little things they like: gift cards, accessories, and their favorite candies and put them in the bags. Buying sets of things to break apart is also a great idea. Add the stickers and a cute bow.

Turning my favorite @wayfar vase into a coastal Christmas centerpiece!

Are you already decorated for Christmas but hosting Thanksgiving dinner? Here is how to blend the 2 “themes” seamlessly for your Thanksgiving table.

Start by using a garland like magnolia (or fresh sprigs if you have access to them) down the center of your table. Add in some fall/brown picks like pinecones or acorns. Run tall gold candlesticks down the table weaving in and out of the garland. Use real candles or these faux real touch candles. Consider using a plaid napkin that incorporates some browns & greens and dark green or brown velvet bow napkin rings — or maybe a brown & white printed napkin on top of your plate with a gold napkin ring. Tuck a magnolia leaf or pinecone into the napkin ring to top the plate. Use neutral plates and glassware so there is no “theme” for the table setting.
