I’m in my 50s now, and here’s something wild: I look better than I did in my 30s and 40s.

For years I didn’t even realize how much I’d let myself fade into the background. Skipping the mirror instead of looking in it. Putting everyone else’s needs before my own, every single day.

Turning it around wasn’t one big overhaul. It was small, daily acts of choosing myself — the right fit over the “safe” size, sun rays instead of something to erase, showing up as me instead of hiding.

One of our favorite styling tricks is reaching for nude or neutral shoes when we want to create the look of longer legs. Beige, tan, camel, blush, or shades close to your skin tone can create a seamless line from head to toe. Tegan and I have been using this trick for years, and it’s still one of our favorite ways to style an outfit.
