I have been hard at work with the new Nobu Residences (aka Avenue Bellevue), so I am fully immersed in that wabi-sabi design style but I am keeping it transitional and I am all in with this one! Wabi-sabi says: embrace the imperfect. the handmade bowl with the uneven edge. The linen that wrinkles exactly how it wants to; nothing forced, nothing too polished. Transitional says: let’s keep it livable. classic lines, a little symmetry, furniture that makes sense for actual life. So when I put them together you get rooms that feel soulful and approachable, texture-rich without going full minimalist-monk on you. Picture this: a curved sofa in nubby boucle, a raw-edge wood coffee table, soft neutral walls, one perfectly imperfect ceramic vase. This is the style for anyone who loves the calm of wabi-sabi but still wants their living room to feel like, well, a living room. Let me know what element are you stealing first. Are you liking the texture or the curves?
