Swedish Braided Bread. This family recipe was gifted to us by Miss Fabian, our Swedish neighbor who was new to America and was the first mother I babysat for at the age of 11. She gave my mother this bread recipe and we had it almost every week growing up. And while I understand the cultural importance of recipes (which is why I like to amplify this one), I will never stand for a mass of bullies coming at me in DMs. Let’s stand up for sanity this year ❤️Ps. I do recommend using a good bread flour, it makes a big difference. 3 1/2- 4 1/2 cups bread flour 3 tbs sugar 1 tsp salt 3 tsp active dry yeast 1 cup milk 1/2 cup water 4 tbs salted butter - Mix dry ingredients. Put milk, water and butter in bowl, heat in microwave for 1 1/2 mins or until melted. Allow to cool slightly before adding to dry ingredients. - Mix until fully incorporated and then knead for 5 minutes. Cover and let rise for 30- 45 mins until doubled in size. - Cut dough into three pieces and braid. Allow to rise for another 30 mins. Apply an egg wash and bake at 375F for 20-25 mins until golden brown. . . . whitekitchen breadrecipe swedishdesign traditionalhome classichome familycooking LTKHome
