✨ A Few of My Favorite Things 💥

Since diving into entrepreneurship, spending time against my own personal development has been a priority.

It all began with Hal Elrod’s, The Miracle Morning, and his life “SAVERS”: Silence, Affirmations, Visualization, Exercise, Reading & Scribing (Journaling).

But I have to admit, it all started to feel like a chore 🫤. I’d get frustrated if my routine was cut short and I didn’t get around to it all. While I love doing each of these things, I felt like a robot checking off my morning list as opposed to truly being present and recharging during my time alone.

So, I’ve remixed it lately and made it a priority to do the 1-3 things I feel like doing that morning…time permitting. Let’s face it, some mornings are just NOT cut out for all 6 practices! Sometimes it’s just reading & journaling…other times it’s meditation and working in my latest devotional…and on the mornings I work out early, that’s it!

As of late, here a few of my favorites that help me feel recharged and energized to conquer the day 💥!

Real Talk.

I listened to a podcast earlier this week that was such a good reminder of what the journey to change really looks like.

The statement I’ve heard before, but I needed to hear it again.

“Your NEW life is going to cost you your OLD one.”

Sit with that for a sec.

For me, I’ve traded in several comforts of my OLD life to pursue building the legacy I plan to live out with my family (my NEW life!).

And yes, trading in those comforts HASN’T been easy.

But as Jennings Smith put it in his recent podcast episode, “if you want to go somewhere different than you’ve ever gone before, you’re going to have to give up some of the things you’ve been doing and you’re going to have to do some new things, to become [who you want to be in your NEW life]. Chances are the OLD you looks very different than the “NEW life” you - mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually and financially. That change requires DISCOMFORT.

While the struggles are real as you undergo the transition, they are fleeting, whilst feeling like an eternity! However, what I can say (from experience!) is that leaning into your deeper WHY behind your mission makes it that much easier to continue the forge forward. 🔮

Get comfortable being UNCOMFORTABLE as you shed your OLD life in pursuit of the NEW YOU. ✨

✨ Consistency ✨

It can feel like a grind.

It can feel static when you can’t see the effects of the momentum being built.

It can even feel like time wasted when results aren’t immediate or expectations aren’t met.

However, look back at where you started.
Celebrate how from you’ve come.
Consistency is a key driver in growth & creating impact.

Transitional Farmhouse Vibes

My flipping style has evolved into a combination of traditional design and functionality, modern lines, and farmhouse charm, what designers have termed “transitional farmhouse.”

When it comes to bathroom vanities, while I appreciate the latest trends and pops of color, ultimately, I stick to classic tones and really do love how vanities made of various wood materials warm up a space.

For fixtures, I keep it simple and classy with matte black or brushed gold selections…and it’s ultimately the ceramic tile that dictates that decision.

My first successful flip. ✨

(…the first attempt to flip was not so successful! Story for another day😜).

This was the first home I personally chose the materials (with a nod of approval from my biz partner!).

BRIGHT ambience and clean lines have become characteristic of my flipping style.

These walls are SW (Sherwin Williams) Agreeable Grey, but I’ve actually opted for SW whites recently.

Natural toned LVP floors, light walls, bright kitchens and a hint of farmhouse feel have become my LOOK.

When sizing mirrors for vanities, interior designers recommend 80% - 100% of a vanity’s width.

In this shared bathroom, we followed the 80% rule and selected 24” black matte, circular mirrors (2, double sink) to complement our 60” vanity.

Circular mirrors are also perceived as a more luxurious finish in comparison to rectangular options.

I’m also pretty picky about my faucet choices. 😜
