growing up in hot springs, the racetrack has always called to me. there is a specific kind of magic in the tradition of it all, watching the horses being led to the paddock, picking a favorite based on nothing but a feeling, and that iconic bugle calling everyone to the gate.

nothing compares to feeling the thunder of the horses racing across the finish line. it’s a rush that stays with you.

with the kentucky derby just a week away, this april edit is my way of bringing that bluegrass tradition home, mixed with a little southern comfort. we’re serving shoestring fries in silver just to be chic, and since i’m a major bourbon lover, we’re keeping the mules strictly kentucky style.
