🗣️ SAVE THIS BEFORE YOU INSTALL YOUR LVP FLOORING PHEW! I’m glad I caught you before you got started. Here’s my top 5 tips for and easy peasy LVP install: 1️⃣ Acclimate the planks - Leave them in the room you’re installing them for 48hrs. This will allow the boards to expand or contract according to your home’s temp and humidity levels before install 2️⃣ Prep the subfloor - Clean, level, and smooth for that flawless finish. Trust me, it’ll be worth it in the long run for the longevity of your flooring. 3️⃣ Plan your layout and mix your boxes (I open three boxes at a time) - avoid awkwardly cut boards and having those teeny tiny end pieces and allows for a more natural appearance between planks. 4️⃣ Leave expansion gaps - most brands call for 1/4-inch from walls to avoid buckling with changes in the boards has your house adjusts to outside temperature changes. 5️⃣ Use the right tools - Tapping block, pull bar, & a rubber mallet are going to be your BFFs! I would also invest in knee pads or a mat to kneel on. While it can look intimidating - LVP installation is actually pretty easy with a little practice. Is this something you would tackle in your own home? Special shoutout to @loweshomeimprovement for this beautiful flooring!
