The Boon Trove manual breast pump is 1000 times better than the Hakaa. I use this not only to stimulate a letdown before breastfeeding ( I have a very impatient newborn ) but also to catch the letdown on the opposite side I’m feeding from.

We’re one week in with a newborn and honestly loving every second this go round. It’s much less stressful and the learning curve is smaller. Plus having a baby that actually wants to breastfeed does wonders!

Homemade padsicles for the win! While you can buy these premade, they’re so easy to make on your own! I swore by these in my first pregnancy and just made another batch in less than 15 minutes for baby #2.

Here’s how to do it.

What you’ll need:
- Overnight pads
- Aloe Vera
- Witch Hazel
- Lavender essential oil (optional)

1. Take a pad and carefully unfold it.
2. Apply a generous layer of Aloe Vera, spread across the pads surface with your finger.
3. Apply a generous layer of Witch Hazel.
4. Add in a 2-4 drops of Lavender essential oil if using.
5. Carefully fold pad back up.
6. Place folded pad in a large ziplock container.
7. Repeat for remaining pads (I prep 1 box at a time).
8. Once all pads are prepared, store pads in the freezer until needed.

To use:
- Pull pad out of freezer and let it thaw 5-10 minutes before use. Enjoy!

January Favorites

1. H&M Small Basket: This basket comes in three different sizes. I bought the smallest for our bathroom to store Bradley’s medicine that was scattered across our bathroom counter. It’s a great little sea grass box perfect for storage and hiding knick knacks!
2. Up & Up Fragrance Free wipes: I’m convinced these are the best baby wipes! They’re my favorite and I’ve tried them all. They stay wet, which means I have to use less wipes, and the price point is perfection!
3. Pan Scraper: Brad got me this pan scraper for Christmas and it has quickly become one of my most-used kitchen gadgets. I use it on all my pots as pans for any stubborn or soggy residue. The best part is it doesn’t mess with the coating or seasoning!
4. Jocko Protein: I’ve been loving the vanilla and chocolate protein from Jocko Fuel. It’s clean and has really helped me reach my daily protein goals, which has helped me to feel so much better this pregnancy. My favorite way to have it in the morning is putting 1/2 scoop of the vanilla protein in my frothed milk for coffee.
5. New Balance 574 sneakers: these tennis shoes are so comfortable and cute. They are my go-to sneaker for everyday wear. They offer great support, and the neutral colors go with nearly any outfit.
6. Dry Brush: I’ve started dry brushing over the last month and it is so relaxing. The key is a light touch, and my skin afterwards has never felt smoother or softer!
7. Butter Bell: My SIL bought me this butter bell for Christmas. It’s perfect if you love baking and bread making or if you just like keeping butter readily available on your counter! This one is from Etsy but there are several available options linked below.
8. Foam Knee Pad: This Kneely Pad is a game changer if you have kids. I use this daily and it makes bath time or any time spent on my knees or butt more enjoyable.
9. Mainstays Hammered Tumbler: I found these cups at Walmart to replace our old plastic ones. They’re under $3, hold a decent amount, and are shatterproof!
