The Twenty Two, Mayfair — a townhouse built around the room nobody wants to leave. This week's edit is everything I'd steal from their drawing rooms to make my own living room work harder for a night in.
Starting with light: a low brass table lamp that sits lower and warmer than any overhead ever will. Then the room's real centerpiece — a proper bar cart, stocked and ready, more useful than a coffee table ever was. A crystal decanter for the one spirit worth keeping in view, and a set of coupe glasses so the second round looks as good as the first. A backgammon board left out on purpose — the object that actually gives people a reason to stay past nine. And a velvet floor cushion for when the room fills past capacity and nobody minds.
