Christmas Crack (Sweet + Salty Cornflake Toffee Bark)

This easy holiday treat is the ultimate sweet and salty situation. Crunchy caramelized cornflakes topped with rich dark chocolate and finished with flaky salt. It’s simple, festive, and always a crowd favorite.

Ingredients
• 3 cups cornflakes
• 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
• 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
• 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
• 24 oz quality dark chocolate, chopped or chips
(about 2 XL bars or 2 bags. Milk chocolate will be too sweet)
• Flaky salt for finishing

Directions
1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and brown sugar together, stirring until smooth and bubbling for about 1 minute.
3. Remove from heat and gently fold in cornflakes until fully coated.
4. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spread cornflake mixture evenly onto the prepared baking sheet.
5. Bake for 8 minutes. Remove and allow to cool on the counter or in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
6. Melt the chocolate and pour evenly over the cooled cornflakes. Use a spatula to spread into an even layer.
7. Sprinkle with flaky salt. Refrigerate for 10 minutes or until set.
8. Break into pieces and try not to eat the whole pan at once 😉

Cranberry simple syrup is my favorite way to elevate holiday cocktails and cozy drinks. It is bright tart and only three ingredients which makes it the easiest festive treat to keep in the fridge all season. Save this because tomorrow’s cocktail uses this syrup and you will not want to miss it.

Recipe:
• 12 oz cranberries fresh or frozen
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 ½ cups water

Simmer everything for 15 minutes until the cranberries pop. Strain and pour into jars. Keeps up to four weeks.

I love using this in cocktails mocktails sparkling water lemonade and tea. It adds the prettiest color and the perfect touch of holiday sweetness.

2 cups cranberry cocktail
1/2 cup tart cherry juice
1/3 cup lime juice
1/2 cup vodka
1/3 cup Cointreau
1/3 cup water
