Most big box laundry detergent brands are actually full of awful, synthetic ingredients that wreak havoc on your body over time. The ingredients in these soaps are designed to stay in the fabrics of our clothing for months- keeping the smell “fresh” but in reality, that just means those chemicals are continually leaching into our skin (our largest organ). I will say I’m grateful for the clean brands out there that give us a better option! But this is what I do instead of buying conventional detergent: comment ✨LAUNDRY HACKS✨ for printable recipe and links to all ingredients, essential oils and dryer balls 1. Homemade laundry detergent (I’ll include the recipe at the end of caption or comment above) 2. I add distilled white vinegar to the rinse cycle of every load in place of fabric softener. This helps soften clothes, gets rid of odor, brighten colors and even repels pet hair. If you don’t have a rinse compartment you can add it to the softener compartment 3. I use wool dryer balls with essential oils in place of dryer sheets. My FAVORITE combo is peppermint, lavender and rosemary. We get compliments daily about how good our laundry smells so that’s a win! . Recipe: 2 cups baking soda 2 cups washing soda 2 cups borax 2 bars finely shredded Castile soap bar (I chunk mine up and add to my food processor) 50 drops essential oils - combine everything and store in an air tight container . . .
