Saturday fit
My 5 year old has had digestive issues since he was born, and nothing we tried helped. I finally learned that if you are born via c section you are probably missing an essential bacteria called l reuteri, also known as the “love bug,” as it increases oxytocin and SO many other benefits- digestive health being one! It’s obviously so good for people not born via c section as well as so many of us are missing this bacteria! Here is the catch…this bacteria needs to be fermented for 36 hours for it to be effective, cue the yogurt!! This is what to do the FIRST time you make this:
1. Mix together very well with a whisk:
- 2 TBS prebio plus
- 1 packet of l reuteri
- 1/3 cup organic half and half
2. When all the clumps are gone, ADD the remaining container of half and half. Mix well.
3. Pour this mixture into the yogurt dishes and place in the yogurt maker with the lids set on top don’t put the lid completely on it)
4. Set the yogurt maker to 100 degrees for 36 hours.
5. after 36 hours it’s done! The first time you make this the smell and taste is very strong and it will most likely curdle - this is ok!! It’s ok to eat even though the smell and taste is strong. Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
IMPORTANT!! I will immediately make a second batch now WITH this yogurt and it makes a much milder, smoother, delicious yogurt!! Do this for the SECOND batch and all the batches after. The yogurt is now your “starter” and you don’t need the l reuteri packets anymore!
*Mix 3-4 TBS of the yogurt you just made with 2 TBS of prebio plus
*add the whole container of half and half
*Follow the same instructions as above! Place in the yogurt maker for 36 hours at 100 degrees.

Note that you can make this in an instant pot or dehydrated that can hold 100 degree for 36 hours! I prefer the yogurt maker because it just makes it easier on me and I make it enough that it’s worth the purchase 🤍

The funnest family/kid game
Sprouting! These are complete little powerhouses that pack such a strong punch for your body and overall health. Comment ✨sprouts✨ for a link to the seeds I buy and sprouting jars and lids) ❗️Broccoli sprouts contain 100 times the amount of sulforaphane than mature broccoli. Sulforaphane stimulates something called NRF2- which “turns on” over 200 anti inflammatory and anti oxidant genes to help heal the body on the deepest level. This can help prevent things like cancer and many other diseases. ❗️(I can send the source to this if you’d like!)
How to: (it is INCREDIBLY simple)
1. Add 2 TBS of seeds to a quart sized jar and cover completely with water
2. Soak 6-8 hours
3. Gently rinse and drain seeds thoroughly
4. Set the jar upside down on an angle so the excess water can drain
5. Repeat step 4 2-3 times a day for 2-4 days or until you can see that the sprouts are completely sprouted! That’s it!
6. Line a glass dish with an airtight lid with a paper towel and store sprouts in the fridge for about a week.
Note: during the sprouting process you may see little white fuzz on the sprouts- this is ok! Just rinse and drain as normal. Also, this process is the same regardless of what type of sprouts you’re using- I have some of my other favorites linked as well.
