Chemical exfoliants use acids or enzymes to encourage shedding dead skin cells and debris. Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) such as Glycolic Acid or Lactic Acid can improve discoloration of the skin, skin texture, and tone. Beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) such as Salicylic Acid can also improve skin tone and texture but additionally work to decongest pores, making them a great choice for acne-prone skin. Chemical exfoliants come in a variety of options such as washes, wipes, leave-on masks, in-office clinical peels, & more. Here I have a collection of some of my favorites!
