I want to talk about this perfect little corner.

Let’s be honest. Is a table-height cabinet “normal” in a kitchen? Not always. But when your client loves to bake, you throw “normal” out the window and design what works best for them!

This lowered countertop surface gives her the perfect spot to mix, roll, and knead. Comfortable, functional, and totally custom.

And underneath? An extra-wide double trash pull-out (because baking = lots of cleanup), plus bonus storage on the side for all the bags, ties, and odds & ends.

The @jennair appliances. Always sleek, clean line, and with high quality finishes.

One of the beginning phases of the design process is appliance specification. With the help of our friends at @donsappliances1971 we collaborate to make sure you are checking off all of your wants and needs with your new kitchen gadgets!

Appliances play a large role in aesthetics, too. We used brass accents around the knobs of the rangetop to correspond with the cabinet hardware, plumbing fixtures, and lighting fixtures.

Choosing the perfect paint color for your home is only half of the battle. Lighting plays a huge role in how paint colors will actually look in your space.

Natural light, for example, changes throughout the day. Morning sunlight might bring out cooler tones, while afternoon light adds warmth.

Artificial lighting matters too! Warmer light bulb temperatures can make a gray look beige, and cooler bulbs might make the same gray feel icy.

That’s why we always recommend testing paint samples on your walls and observing them at different times of day!

It’s also worth considering the direction your room faces. North-facing rooms usually have cooler light, so you might want a warmer tone to balance it. South-facing rooms, on the other hand, get more direct sunlight, which can make colors appear brighter and warmer.
