This is a great set to start out your board game collection. We are loving the look of this cabinet too. You can even fit multiple together for a console look.

MLEM: A cat-astic game about space cats racing to distant galaxies. Push your luck on a shared spaceship, will the commander crash you or will you jump off in time to secure big points!

Through the Desert: An intro area control game with mini objectives and snappy turns. Use your caravans to cut though collect and secure bonus points.

Mycelia: A great simple deck building game with adorable mushrooms. Our 9yr old is a HUGE fan of this one. We played two days in a row!

13 Beavers: An absolutely maddeningly simple push your luck game of high low. One of our favorite finds of 2024

Super Meow: A purrrfect introduction to deck building that works great for your youngest gamers (and grandparents)

Spirits of the Wild: This is a wonderful set collection game and the new version adds lots of variety.

Peak Team: A cooperative game that leans into sharing and planning. Turns are snappy and this game was an instant favorite for our 11yr old.

Mycelia: A introductory deck building game with adorable mushrooms. Our 9yr old is a HUGE fan of this one.

Harry Potter Hogwarts Deck Builder: If you like HP, this is a must. Cooperatively play through each of the 7 years with successively more difficult games.

Blokus: A classic Tetris puzzle game, a must play classic.

Wandering towers is a must have game. Perfect for family time as it is highly interactive with quick turns and a light memory component.

These upgrades are really nice too and the rotating board lazy susan was poached from our puzzle board (which is the most amazing gift ever!)

It honestly sounds insane, and yet it’s one of the coolest things we have. We can pull the board out, start a puzzle, store all the pieces in the interior draw an and slide it back under the couch for another day.

Azul has been a staple game at our house for years.

Ink feels instantly familiar and refreshingly new at the same time. It definitely captures the lightheaded simplicity and strategic depth we have come to love from modern classics.

Everdell is simply one of the best family friendly games available.

The deluxe edition is nice, but the standard game is more than sufficient too!

When your hobby is relaxing and addicting…quite the conundrum.

Survive the island got a mini expansion that adds quite a few elements of chaos and brings back an OG monster, the whale.

Survive the island is a fantastic gateway / family game. The goal is to get your people to safety as the island sinks. You have 3 moves per turn and it’s often shocking how terrible things go. Oh, and each worker is worth different values that you have to remember through the game.

Perfect for non-gamers, a casual game night, or to kick off an epic game marathon.

This small box game packs a punch and is great for a weeknight or after school experience.

There is no wrong answer, but come on…

Tantrix is a fun tile puzzle that can be played 3 ways. As a solo, in realtime as a speed game or as a standard turn based game.

In each mode you’ll need to connect pieces so they fit and match perfectly.

Is it an obsession? Maybe, but it’s who I am.

Something about this hobby brings me joy, relieves stress, and has led to some great memories.

❔Why do you play games❔

For A Crown is a quick and easy family game with a fun shared deck mechanic. Each round you’ll spend coins to buy a card and add it to the deck. Once everyone has bought a card, shuffle the deck and draw them one at a time. The player that bought the card will choose how to execute the action.

There is light take that, but it worked really well for the 5 of us and we had a blast trying to get the most gems to win the game.

You can’t say no to making memories and dye free candy, right? right?!

Cascadia Junior is an excellent adaptation of the original scaled down for young kids removing everything except the set collection core. You’ll attempt to make groups of different ecosystems and animals scoring pine cone tokens based on the final size of each.

The pine cone tokens have either 1 or 2 points, so there is a bit of randomness as they are taken face down, but if give the youngest players a chance to win even if they have a less optimized board.

Overall we really enjoy Cascadia Junior and found it reminiscent of the family variant in Cascadia, but slimmed down even further and perfect for your budding gamer.

This would be a perfect Easter Basket!

River Valley Glassworks is an excellent game that is great for kids and you’ll enjoy playing too!
