These are the details of how we use sticks or rocks, plus water, to achieve total cleanliness after pooping while backpacking. This is part 3 of a series we’re doing on “The Three P’s” - peeing, pooping, and periods on the trail. A few caveats: - Use toilets/out-houses whenever available to minimize your impact on the wilderness. - Check the regulations where you’ll be. In some places it’s required to pack out your poop. -Make your hole is big enough for all of your poop and cover it well (at least 6-8”/ 15-20 cm). #hiking #bathroom #outdoors #rock #stick #water #leavenotrace
