I am LOVING this denim on denim (aka Canadian tuxedo) look!! This utility jacket by DL1961 is fabulous. You can wear it belted, but I like it hanging loose. I’m in the XS. I will say it’s a little snug, so you may want to consider sizing up. I just happened to have a pair of jeans that were the same shade as the jacket, but the shades definitely don’t need to be matchy matchy! These jeans by Mother are a very slim bootcut. Almost straight, but not. I’m in the 25. I went with a slimmer pair of jeans to compensate for the longer jacket. I just got these new boots and they are perfection. I love that this top has red and green in it, but it doesn’t scream Christmas. Just enough to make it festive, yet you can wear it any time of the year! It’s on major sale! I took my normal size (XS), but it is snug. You may want to size up. My velvet skirt is by Commando. I was unsure of it at first, but I ended up loving it! It does run long—I had to have mine hemmed. Tips for looking your best in wide leg jeans! •Create balance by wearing something fitted or cropped on top. You want to create balance and definition. •Accentuate your waist by either tucking in your top, or wearing a shorter “cropped” top. A belt will help add definition. •A pointed toe shoe helps elongate the leg. Avoid anything chunky that will only create more heaviness on the bottom. •If wearing a sneaker, opt for one that is streamlined and low profile. •A cropped jacket works best so as to not create more volume. Yes, this is an investment piece. But as you can see, it’s so versatile. It can be worn so many different ways, from a casual get-together, to work, to brunch and to date night. I love the fact that you can change out the Dickey inserts and change the entire look. You will have this in your closet forever. As for sizing, I am in a 2 which fits me perfectly. No more skinny jeans with low shaft ankle boots! You don’t want that awkward gap of skin between the jeans and the boots (but let’s keep it real—if that’s your vibe, you do you!). Here is a round up of some of my favorite ankle boots with a taller shaft, and some of my favorite cropped jeans. As a side note, the more narrow the shaft, the better. It’s just a cleaner look under the jeans. My jacket is an XS, and I’m wearing a 25 in the jeans. My exact shoes are final sale, but they fit very TTS.
