We continued my birthday celebration with dinner at Jimmy Kelly’s Steakhouse, a Nashville icon founded in 1934 and known for timeless Southern elegance and perfectly aged steaks. Our server Brian made the night extra special with the sweetest birthday dessert — and yes, we even saw Santa before we left! 🎅🏼🎂 The evening ended at the stunning Schermerhorn Symphony Center for Home Alone with the Nashville Symphony performing the full orchestral score live, complete with choir during the church scenes. It was nostalgic, emotional, festive, and absolutely unforgettable. We love to travel! Traveling means thinking about which products will be easy to use for my curls and still give great results. Comment CURLS for a link to be sent directly to you for everything I used. 💫

A reliable choice with consistent results is Innersense Curl Products. My faves are I Create Curl Memory, I Create Hold, and I Create Volume. 💕

I always start with the fabulous @moroccanoil Hydrating Shampoo. Next, I use Design Essentials 6N1 Milk and Honey Conditioner and comb this through. Before I jump out of the shower, I rinse it out and apply the Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Treatment, leaving it in. Curly hair is naturally a drier hair type. If you’ve never tried leaving in some conditioner, give it a go! I’ve been doing it for over 30 years, and it’s fabulous! 🦋

After applying the last conditioner, I gently wrap my hair in a Turbie Twist—not to dry it, but to keep it from dripping. I still prefer my hair very wet, and this towel is perfect for that. 🌺

Now for the fun part—and the most important part. Making sure your curls look their best comes down to applying products evenly all over your hair. 🪻

Today I started with @cultandking Jelly… where was my Superwater??? And I’m applying these out of order! Vacation brain. The Jelly is a pink Himalayan sea salt texture product that helps your curls be their absolute best. I don’t know how it works, but it is amazing! ✨

Next, I used Simply Smooth Magic Potion and Paul Mitchell Super Skinny, mixed together. They provide shine, manageability, volume, moisture, heat protection, protect your ends, and help lock in color. 💜

Then I layered in my Innersense faves—I’ve loved these since the first time I tried them. 💕

Once your products are in, diffuse. I scrunch while diffusing. At about 85% dry, apply Aerogel and scrunch it in. Then use volume clips—because the higher the hair, the closer to God! 🌸

Let that dry for about 30 minutes, remove clips, add hairspray (of course), and finger-style for gorgeous, bouncy curls! This combo never fails. 🌼

My husband took me to restoration hardware for date night and I fear he has set the bar extremely high.

We got there early so we could wander the store like we were casually picking out a $7,000 couch and pretending we live there. Zero regrets. The courtyard is stunning, and once the sun sets? The lighting turns the whole place into a movie scene.

I ordered the Blackberry Mojito (non-alcoholic) and felt very put together and refreshed.

The Caesar salad deserves its own moment. The handmade croutons? Loud. Crunchy. Iconic. Possibly the best Caesar I’ve had.

I got the RH Burger — two smash patties cooked perfectly. Added avocado and bacon because balance. It was so good I had to pause between bites.

Ernie ordered the Roasted Chicken Club and was immediately protective over it. Perfectly toasted roll, big juicy chunks of roasted chicken (not shredded, we respect that), fresh tomatoes, and a garlic aioli that understood the assignment.

And then… the Caramelized Banana Split. Gerard told us they have other desserts but “this is the only one you need.” He was right. I’m still thinking about it.

We will absolutely be back. Romantic, beautiful, comfortable — the kind of place that makes you want to linger and order dessert even if you said you wouldn’t.

10/10 date night energy.

I hired Niki at Plum Panda Design Studio to completely transform my home office/YouTube studio—and I truly could not be happier with the results.

She came over, walked the space with me, asked thoughtful questions about how I use it (both as an office and a filming studio), took photos, and within a week sent a detailed design plan with direct links to everything I needed. The pieces were affordable, functional, and easy to implement.

One of the smartest upgrades?
She solved my hair product storage situation with a vertical rotating bookshelf that holds an incredible amount—products, books, everything—while keeping the footprint small. And adding a dedicated makeup desk with a large mirror brought both beauty and functionality to my filming setup.

She suggested I swap my small round rug for a larger one. Because I film in this space, rugs help absorb sound—and the bigger size instantly made the room feel more grounded and polished on camera. My rug actually came from Temu (with help from a friend who has a great eye), though I’ve loved Ruggable for years.

I was even able to sell my old furniture, which helped offset the cost of the new pieces.

The space feels intentional, elevated, and so much more productive. Next up: we’ve hired Niki to redesign the break room at our salon—can’t wait to share that transformation too.

This is a full, real-time curl routine—no shortcuts, no cuts—showing exactly what I do behind the chair to create soft, defined, long-lasting curls with movement and shine.

I start by thoroughly prepping the hair with Cult+King Superwater to hydrate, balance, and protect. From there, I layer Paul Mitchell Super Skinny for slip and smoothness, followed by Simply Smooth Magic Potion to balance the hair, add moisture, and support overall curl health.

For definition and structure, I apply Cult+King Jelly, then build body and hold with AG Care Mousse Gel. At this stage, I use the Scrunch It Curls brush to enhance definition and encourage curl clumping before moving on to AG Care Recoil, which seals in moisture and helps the curls spring to life.

Once the curls are diffused and set, I finish with Aerogel hairspray to lock everything in while keeping the curls touchable and flexible.
