Whenever I look outside this time of year I think of my grandmother. Her favorite colors were yellow and green, and she had her entire house decorated in some variation of the two colors. I don’t think it’s a sign sent from her, because seasonal changes have always happened. But I do believe that there are lovely little reminders of people we love and care about. All round, if only we look. Around this time of year she would have had me saving every toilet paper tube, frozen juice concentrate cap, and ribbon clipping I had for crafting with my class. She wasn’t exactly a crafty person, but I do remember her coming into my classroom to help teach one holiday crafting project or another. This thrifty way of approaching crafts was applied to her everyday life and it’s something she carried with her from the Great Depression. It’s a small example of many. If you had a grandparent, or someone you were close to that grew up during that time- what is something you learned from them? LTKxMadewell LTKHolidaySale LTKGiftGuide
