This week my granddaddy would’ve been 95. It’s strange to see life move on without him since he was such an integral piece of my life. We moved in with my grandparents when I was four and I still remember standing at his front door on the night we arrived. The door was solid carved wood that felt immense when it opened to my granddaddy on the other side. I wanted nothing to do with him. He was tall, direct and a bit gruff for my sensitive nature. Over time though, we became best friends. He never pushed to build a relationship but instead gave me little tasks. Eventually I’d go looking for him to find something new we could do together. My world is certainly at a loss without him, but I’m thankful for the lessons he shared with me. If you’ve got a grandparent still around, call them. Go see them if you can. Time is a thief that doesn’t wait around. They’ll be happy to hear from you! What is something you wish/will ask your grandparents about? LTKHolidaySale LTKSeasonal LTKHoliday
