I don’t tend to go for orangey shades, but this one was really fun and festive. I don’t think there is anything in the O&J lineup that is very close to this color, so | just included I’ll Take Another Spritz as perhaps the closest orange shimmery shade - but they are vastly different in tone and finish. HIYLMM is like if you made Lava in the finish of Rodeo Queen. ❤️‍🔥

This is “Because I’m Green” from the new @oliveandjune Winter Collection! 💚 BIG is a Limited Edition Gift with system orders, and is described as a metallic bright green.

BIG’s color and finish are unlike anything else in the current O&J lineup. The finish reminds me of Midnight (from the Quick Dry line), and it is slightly similar to Dancing Green and LL. It really pretty in indoor light, with a sort of “lit from within” chrome-y finish. ✨

🍫 Dark Chocolate Nail Polish Color Comparisons (PR)

Here are color comparisons for Dark Chocolate from @oliveandjune’s latest Winter Collection. Dark Chocolate is described as a cool bittersweet chocolate shade. It really looks like chocolate ganache - like you melted a bar of chocolate on a double boiler and are about to whip up a delicious sugary dessert. 🧁

This seemed to paint a little on the thin side - I used 3 coats for both my comps and my full mani. This is a beautiful dark brown, but not as deep as CN. I also felt Spressotini has more red in it, and the other browns are more milky (more white and yellow/orange) in them. 🤎

Which brown would you choose? I feel like CN sometimes looks so dark it appears black, so the appeal of Dark Chocolate would be to be able to wear a dark brown and make sure it still looked brown (does that make sense? 😅). I would say Dark Chocolate and CN suit my pale cool skin tone the best! 🐻

❓Curious about the LED lamp for @oliveandjune’s new Gel nail polish? 💅 🔌

I have seen some questions about how long the cord for the lamp is, what plugs where, and what wattage to use, to unsure the lamp fully cures your polish. The official response from O&J is below:

“For the most optimal output of our LED lamp, a 15 W minimum power supply is suggested. If you use a power supply that is *less* than that, you will not get the most optimal LED output. If you use the provided cord with the recommended power supply (15W), the power consumption is 15W.

Most plugs/extension cords/surge protectors are labeled to tell you what the power is. We recommend plugging the provided cord into a USB brick and then into an extension cord or directly into the wall or 15W minimum extension cord.

The reason why we don’t recommend plugging it into a laptop as the power source is that not all devices are approved/recommend for use an a secondary power source. Without knowing what each of device offers, we cannot recommend you use it as a power source.”

The lamp connects to a USB-C, and the opposite end is a USB-A. 🔌

🍸Martini Chrome: NGL, I was on the fence about this. However, after wearing it for a bit, it’s actually a pretty cool color! It gets darker in the shade, but it really shines and pops under sunlight. I did my best to duplicate it with existing colors from the O&J lineup, and I think I got pretty close? LMK what you think!

💙 Sapphire Season: while this is close to Midnight (Quick Dry), it is lighter, slightly dustier, and, of course, in the Long-Lasting formula. It was pretty in two coats! One of my favorites from this launch 🤩

🌌 Past My Bedtime: this is like Stargaze but with more holographic glitter payoff. It’s like when you want dark nails, but also want rainbow glitter! The glitters pop way more on this versus Stargaze (plus, again - LL vs. QD formulas) 💫

🍹Splash of Cran: I thought this was going to be Ruby Shimmer 2024, but it’s actually pretty different. Ruby Shimmer is way more pink with a hint of magenta/purple, but Cran is more red. It will be a fun one to wear during the holidays for sure 🎄

🍫 Milk Chocolate: I don’t tend to gravitate towards milky browns, but the shimmer in this made it more wearable for me. The gold shimmer gives it a warmer, yellowish hue, but I’m not mad about it?

🛋️ Don’t Spill On The White Couch: this is hard to place - it is brownish, purpley, mauve. It is a bit of a shade-shifter depending on what you put beside it. I can see this being a Fall favorite!

🍬 Candy Wrapper: super shiny silver foil pieces that are larger than the fine shimmer of Midnight Disco. It had good payoff in two coats on my natural nails! This will be super fun for holiday parties and NYE 🪩 It is slightly yellower than Midnight Disco, but still super shiny and silvery and very pretty!

Did you shop the Mooncat Lunar sale? 🌙

Ghost Ship is a royal purple magnetic lacquer filled with blue shimmer and micro holographic glitter that reveals a bright silver magnetic stripe 🤩

It was so easy to achieve a velvet effect using my 30 lb horseshoe magnet! You can also achieve this with the magnetic wand it comes with, but you have to hover the rectangular part wand back and forth for each coat (including top coat) until the polish sets. 🧲

@oliveandjune Rodeo Queen is described as a bright red shimmer. To me, looks like a bright pink with a slight warm overtone. When I was selecting colors for comparisons, I also tried to recreate it by painting a base of Cherry Crush, adding a layer of Midnight Disco, then topping with Candy Dipped. 🍎

Howdy, y’all! The iridescent sheer pink, Olive Y’all, is next on the color comparisons post. New from the latest @oliveandjune Spring collection! 🍑

This shade is available in both Long-Lasting (regular) polish, as well as in gel. It will be super fun to layer under and over other colors! Though it is described as a pink, it really leans peachy, like a coral-pink sibling of Pink Goldfish. It has a blue iridescence and is slightly more buildable than Pink Goldfish. 🐠

My favorite shade from the new @oliveandjune Spring collection is this bright deep blurple! It slots right in between existing blue and purple shades, and it is bright - but not as bright - as something like Can’t Lose. 👖

I can also see this as a shade that can be used in a lot of ombrés and skittles. How do you feel about this color? 💙

They sparkle like diamonds under my phone flash 🤩 I also included a picture of how they look under my regular lights (lit from various angles). They will be so fun for holiday parties (and the pink & purple ones for Valentine’s too, I imagine).

Bandana Blue (Gifted)

This dusty sky blue from the new @oliveandjune Spring collection is up next for color comparisons!🌤️

This greyish blue midtone shade is most close to Vintage from the Quick Dry line. However, other than Vintage, I struggled to find the perfect blues and greys to round out the comps. It seems there are a lot of blues from the O&J lineup to choose from, but this color is unique enough that it is not fully blue, not fully grey, just somewhere in between. 💙🩶 If I had to categorize Bandana Blue vs. Vintage, I would say BB is more on the lighter/mid tone blue spectrum, versus Vintage which is more dusty blue-grey. Self Portrait, on the other hand, falls more on the grey first, then blue scale.
