The reason most of us don't wear silk is that it feels too dressy for a Tuesday. Here's the fix: satin reads dressy, so everything else stays casual. One elevated piece, easy everything else.

Two ways I'm wearing these:
→ End of summer — white tank tucked, cashmere over the shoulders, flat sandal
→ Chilly fall — same pants, sweater actually on and tucked in, swapped to a loafer

Same jeans. Same black top. Same boots. The only thing that changed is that I know how to finish an outfit now.

The old version wasn’t bad — it was fine, and fine is exactly the problem. It’s what you wear when you don’t have a point of view yet.

Now: a jacket with actual structure, a bag that does something, boots with a real toe. Three small decisions and it’s a completely different outfit.

Same person. Same day. One dress makes me look broad, one looks balanced — and it’s not the dress, it’s my shoulders.

I’m an inverted triangle, which means my shoulders are my widest measurement. The blue dress falls straight down from the widest part of me, so that’s the whole silhouette. The red one shows my waist and puts the volume below my hip, so my shoulders have something to balance against.

This is the thing that changed the most for me. You can know your style, have the perfect Pinterest board, buy the exact right piece — and it still won’t look right if the proportions are off. That’s not a you problem. It’s a fit problem, and it’s fixable.

Mine came out as minimal, chic, sophisticated, subtle edge. Which turned into my style personality: the sophisticated and edgy chic woman who fearlessly stands out. That’s what I shop with now. I hold something up and ask — does SHE wear this?
