Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reed :: 8/10⭐️. While I did really enjoy the story line, I kind of feel like the book kind of just…ended. This book takes us back to how the Riva family became what it is, while in the backdrop of the wildest party Malibu has ever seen. The party scenes were a little over the top and unbelievable to me. If you enjoy surfing, you’ll love this book. I also liked that it was set in the early 80s. The character development was great too, we really get a feel for who the characters are. To me it felt like just a story, so if you’re looking for a good book to cozy up on the couch to, nothing crazy happens- no big twists and turns, this is your book! I felt slightly misled by the description, I was expecting there to be a bit of a mystery attached to it! The book is divided into chapters with chapters within those chapters, and it was a quick read! #LTKGiftGuide
