17. Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt :: 4/5⭐️ after Tova Sullivans husband dies, she gets a job at the Sowell Bay Aquarium mopping floors, dusting and cleaning the glass on the tanks. This is not the first loss Tova has experienced. Her son disappeared on Puget Sound some 30 years ago. Tova befriends one of the exhibits inhabitants, a giant Pacific Octopus named Marcellus. You see, Marcellus is a remarkably bright creature who can communicate with Tova. Marcellus has made it his life’s mission to find out and relay what happened to Tovas son to her. Can he do it before his time is up? This was a really sweet book. Told from the POV of Marcellus and Tova and a couple of other characters, I really enjoyed Marcellus’ whit, and how the story came together in the end. It was a really good book overall.
