24. Beach Read by Emily Henry :: 9/10⭐️. This book was cute! I cried like 4 times! January Andrews realizes the happily ever afters that she writes about in her books aren’t real when her father dies and she moves into his beach house- life just seems bleak. Next door lives another author and her nemesis from college, while both authors are struggling with a nasty case of writers block, they agree to write each other’s very opposite genres. The deal is that they have to go on field trips with each other to research each genre- fun trips to drive ins and amusement parks, and also interviews with death cult members families.. I love the writing style of this book and not only the character development, but their families development. It’s a great book of overcoming loss, and secrets, and writers block! I didn’t like that the chapters were so long. For me the first half went by a little slow, but it really picked up in the last half and I couldn’t put it down! By the title of the book I expected it to be very heavy in summer and beach and vacation, but I didn’t get that very much. I do think the title could be misleading, so don’t think too much into that if it’s deterring you.
