Found the ultimate breastmilk freezing trays on amazon! These plastic trays freeze flat and latch so they stay completely closed-- no leaks or bags becoming misshapen if they move! They are fully translucent plastic so easy to wash and just the right size to fit 4 ounce bags of milk. They also stack AFTER being completely latched, making them fit easier in and out of my freezer drawers than the one-piece stacking shelves and ice cube trays I've used in the past. This specific set of 12 is no longer sold but I found a set of 4 that is just slightly deeper (and may actually fit two bags stacked). Even with my oversupply, I find that I usually use 2-3 trays at a time, so the set of 4 would be perfect for most!

Nursing cart inspired by Karrie Locher and tailored to what has proven the most useful for us after two kids!

This thing comes in so handy during the fourth trimester for postpartum care and nursing/pumping. We organized the cart into levels by diaper changing, postpartum care, and breastfeeding. We also attached a small bag to the side to keep chapstick, lotion, and hair ties for me.

Exciting transformation happening in our guest room!!

I've always used drawers under the changing pad to store diapering essentials, but planning to change it up with these storage shelves that can be used later on for books, trinkets, or whatever the boys find on their adventures. Can you believe these amazon shelves were just over $25 for the set? Talk about a look for less!! A little sanding, stain, and paint and they match perfectly with our timeless antique furniture and decor in the room. I have all of our must-haves in one place (and out of reach for our toddler.. lesson learned 🙃) and get more storage space in the drawers for our non-hanging clothes!

For the shelves: I first sanded the cane webbing to remove some of the coating and expose some of the cane below, so the stain would penetrate deeper in places and give the antique look I wanted. I then mixed about 1/4 cup of clear poly, 4 tbs of weathered oak stain, and 1 tbs of special walnut stain and added/dried layers until they matched a rattan tray we have (about 8 layers total). I assembled all except the front cane pieces, covered both sides of the cane with foil, and sprayed the wood with a french cream spray paint. Once dry, I added the fronts and mounted them using the included level and screws and a screwdriver. It also comes with drywall anchors if they're going to be holding heavier items or used by clumsy kiddos 😊

I also stained a cane picture frame with the same stain mixture, can't wait to show you!

Homemade food for kiddos isn't an all the time thing for us, but I love to put in the work when I have a free morning!

Purees for baby: cut foods and boil in water, then puree and mix with a safe food, like applesauce. here I have carrot, onion, and celery! we freeze the rest of the veggie broth in silicone molds and store in the freezer!!

Pouches for toddler: these reusable pouches are fun and can be washed in the dishwasher! our go-to ones are plain applesauce and oatmeal mixed with plain greek yogurt (recipe on instagram!)

The food prep makes the week so much easier and saves a few bucks!

Let's talk tummies!

Both of my boys ended up on formula at some point in the first year of life. It was amazing in some ways, but what people usually don't talk much about is how it can affect the stomach (especially gentle formulas!!) and thus babies' temperament. We incorporated a lot of fiber and prebiotics when starting solids, but also found that adding a probiotic helped immensely. We used the drops until we were confident that our oldest could chew the others (they recommend starting around 2 years). On amazon, you can get a 4-month supply of both for $30. I like the limited ingredients and love the affordability of these options!

A hot topic and area for debate in the pregnancy world is baby must-haves. It seems as though everybody is trying to get you to buy everything or they are shaming the "stuff" and emphasizing how you don't need anything. I am all for being open-minded, but I err on the side of being an over-prepared mama! Also, if I can get something that makes my life a little easier, even if I know I am fully capable, why the heck not?? We went through our baby gear last weekend before a yard sale and realized just how much we'd wasted buying allllll of the "essential baby items" that didn't work how we thought they would! Safety gear, bottles, carriers, and sleep items vary greatly for every kiddo based on their preferences. Some babies love swings and some love seats and literally the only thing they care about with toys is how to get them in their mouths. This list of essentials is based 100% on my experience as a mom and what helped ME the most during the baby phase (and even now!).

The hatch rest plus has been a true lifesaver. It helps immensely with creating a sleep environment for the little one and it is amazing that it includes a light and app capabilities. 💤

The aden and anais burpy bibs don't even need explanation. They. Are. Everything. I had one set with my first and ended up with four more sets for my second. If #3 is a spitter like his brothers, these will have paid for themselves in outfits saved by one month 🤪

The item you never know if you'll need, until you do 😅

We got a small container of Resinol when we were expecting our first, and truthfully never even needed regular diaper rash cream with him! Our second... different story 🤣 We try to keep things as natural as possible but have also tried nearly every product for his sensitive little tush over the past 15 months. (side note, if you're in the same boat, we've found that the Pipette and Aquaphor brands do best for him! linking our go-to items from them as well) After being hit with molars and a stomach virus, we were in the thick of it. We tried every. single. remedy and medication, and a doctor's visit to rule out the need for anything stronger, we FINALLY broke out the Resinol...... and oh my gosh, it is a MIRACLE PRODUCT! I even found myself having to use my compounding skills to attempt an at-home version while we waited for more to be shipped.

I'll forever make sure we have some on hand! It does such a great job keeping skin dry, relieving pain, and healing raw spots. Seriously, the ultimate diaper rash treatment.

Let the nesting begin!!!

With this being baby #3, I'm choosing to prep slowly over the next few weeks so we're ready to go when baby says it's time! (Also, having to go in for observation unexpectedly at 33 weeks definitely serves as a reminder that things are getting real 🤣)

Since we're battling a cold with our oldest two, we needed to sanitize some things and I chose to add on some pacis for Jack. These are some of our favorite brands, though I also plan to try the mam ones as well this time! We always offer a paci in the hospital based on current research and previous experience, but I've found that some babies definitely have preferences (we tried 6 with Hud before he liked one!!) so we pack several in the hospital bag.

Also, it definitely isn't a must-have but we have really liked this baby brezza sterilizer and it has absolutely gotten a fair share of use since we've used it for multiple kiddos and loaned it out to friends over the years. Plus, WAY easier than boiling! I love that the three tiers can be adjusted for what needs to be sterilized and there is a drying option.

Feeding faves, round three!!!

Now that we've started solids with our third, I feel much more sure of the items I love and those that are meh.
