Finally getting around to some fall decorating this weekend! 🙌🏻 🎃 We can’t do it that early because the squirrels think I’m basically putting out a buffet 🙈. Side note, this @sailtosable pullover and @lululemon pants have been my go to outfit on the chiller days when I want to feel like I’m pulled together but also want to feel like I’m wearing sweatpants. 👍🏻

I like to share the pretty moments, because that’s what inspire me. But I never want folks to think life on this end is perfect. On our vacation we dealt with a double ear infection, fevers, urgent care and so many other little hiccups - but I will say, we made the most of it.

Being a mom has made me slow down a TON. And that is probably a good thing. It’s a daily struggle for me to not be go, go, go at all times, but I know in the back of my head it’s for the best. Being Henry’s (and Otto and Clemmie’s) mom is my greatest gift, but it isn’t all sunshine and ocean views - so if you are a momma looking at my feed and wondering what the heck is up - know I’m right there with you. Bun on my head and covered in who knows what.

This feed is just my little escape and my way of finding the good. I also want Henry to see his family finding the good in an otherwise crappy day. It’s important to me. Because I known we’ll look back and laugh about the beautiful beach day spent waiting at the walk in clinic. Or us bringing his fever down in a blow up baby pool. Heck, we already are.

A huge thank you to @rebeccalovephotography for scheduling this little session around fevers and sending us this little sneak peek. It’s just how I want to remember it.

Last year I pictured this summer being the last summer we could really “sit” on the beach. I had visions of me in a chair with an adorable baby sitting next to me playing contently (it’s laughable now). Obviously that is far from the case. This kiddo likes to move! And explore! And discover! Which I suppose he comes by naturally. 🙋🏼‍♀️

So as we start to prep for our first little summer beach vaca - I ask you seasoned mommas out there, what worked best for you? Gear, tips, wine pairings - I’m all ears.

Summer has always felt magical to me. I start creating a bucket list of things I want to do (or not do) in the depths of winter, and look forward to crossing them off the minute the weather warms. From simple things like eating every possible dinner outside or taking the pups to the beach to the big things - like Henry's first summer vacation on Nantucket this year! There is just something about those long summer days (bonus points if they are on a beach) that will always have my heart. 💙

Starting office hours this week so I can get out of the weeds a bit! My inbox is a scary place, and if you know me, you know notifications are my enemy. I've taken on a few projects in the next couple months, but I'll technically be on maternity leave through the summer. Maternity leave with office hours. Haha. Let's call it a makeshift maternity leave. But I KNOW how incredibly lucky that is, and couldn't be more grateful for the time with Henry. However, If I owe you an email - I wanted to say thank you for your patience while I've been snuggling this little guy. The time has been truly priceless.

I hope to bring some new content in the next few months, but if you have any requests, let me hear them in the comments! It was fun to get back to creating with Erin today! The last time she saw Henry was when this picture was taken and he was one week old! Now he's basically in college!

I go back to pictures of little Henry all the time. I can’t help myself. This one from @leilabrewster is a favorite because I know it will be the one I come back to when he’s graduating college (and probably bawl my eyes out). It’s just timeless. But you know what I love most about it? I love that the @galmeetsglam dress is unzipped. A small detail I totally forgot to attend to after I nursed him. It represents that hurried new mom phase when literally all you care about is if this little human is happy. I’m pretty sure that’s a phase that never really passes.
