In honor of Earth Day this month we’ll be sharing ways to reuse and recycle things you may already have for your collection. Canvas tote bags are a common freebie given away at different events but now I have so many that I don’t use. I even shrunk this one in the wash on accident so I decided to give it a second life as a dust bag for one of my purses. It’s a pretty easy process and depending on your tote bag can even be a no sew project! Materials: -tote bag -ribbon/paracord -seam ripper -scissors -safety pin -lighter Steps: 1. Use the seam ripper to detach the handles from the bag. 2. If you don’t want to sew just cut the handles off at the bottom so you don’t have to sew the bottom of the band. 3. Open up the sides of the bag by using the seam ripper to remove the stitches connecting the front and back of the band. 4. Attach the safety pin to your ribbon or paracord and thread it through the band. Start on one side and thread it all the way around until you’re back where you started. Then repeat from the other side. Basically you’re making a drawstring bag. 5. Tie the two strands together on both sides and use the lighter to seal the ribbon or paracord so it doesn’t fray. 6. You’re done! Put your favorite bag in your new don’t bag to protect it when you’re not using it. disneycraft loungeflybackpack disneydiy pixar disneyloungefly sustainabilty reusereducerecycle♻️ michaelscraftstore earthday sustainabilityapril
